1. rub a bit of

lipstick on the side of the door that has a latch and close it. the lipstick should mark the strike plate on the opposite door, which will show you if it’s lined up properly or not.. The other door has the vertical 2x4 lined up just to the other side of the groove so that when your doors are fully assembled and on your shed, they will overlap properly when closed and the 2x4 vertical members will not interfere with the closing.. A faulty interior door latch can also be the cause of an interior door not closing properly. if this is the case, the door may pull open even when "closed" or may grind against the latch strike plate..
